Caring for the children of India
India has a population of 1.1 billion people. Nearly half are children under the age of 14. The majority of India 's children live in rural villages where life is difficult. Nearly 12 percent of all children born in India will not live to their first birthday. Since its inception, child care has been an integral part of ACM's mission.
Agape Christian Mission's Champion Home is serving with a vision to give full care for orphaned and destitute children in Christ's love and a family atmosphere. These children are cared for through the generous contributions of friends, churches, and charity aid organizations.
We work hard to provide all the essentials for a healthy childhood: a clean home, nutritional meals, proper medical attention, daily education, play and recreation.
ACM Champion Home is a place of joy that replaces a former place of unhappiness and despair in these children's lives. The Home was started on April 1, 2006, and today 102 children (boys & girls) ages 5 - 16 are given full care.
Our vision does not stop here at our mission in Salem. We see the needs of children in villages throughout our district, and we are responding to God's call to reach them and their family’s where they live. Our goal is to give full care to 200 children through child sponsorship.
We welcome special donations for children to buy cots, mattresses, bed sheets, pillows, a television, musical instruments, bicycles, package for picnics and building projects.
